Morel's island

The island of Ouvroir is a little the one of Morel, the character of the Adolfo Bioy Casares' novel. The narrator, an escapee, takes refuge on an desert island. Then tourists arrive. Among them, a gypsy : he falls in love with her. But it's only an image. "To join" her, the narrator then has to choose between the prison of the reality and the illusion liberator of this holographic existence, produced by a fantastic machine - the invention of Morel.

L'ile de l'Ouvroir est un peu celle de Morel, le personnage du roman d'Adolfo Bioy Casares. Le narrateur est un évadé. Il se réfugie sur une ile qu’il croît déserte. Puis des touristes arrivent. Parmi eux, une gitane dont il tombe amoureux. Mais ce n'est qu'une image. Pour la "rejoindre", le narrateur doit alors choisir entre la prison du réel et l’illusion libératrice de cette existence holographique, produite par une machine fantastique – l’invention de Morel.
